REALIST is an international web series festival, which was the first in Russia to introduce in 2018 the format of short series made for the Internet. The producer Anton Kalinkin is the founder and main thought leader of the Festival.

Having kicked off the web series trend, REALIST has been shaping the professional community for a few years setting the standards in content quality. The Festival offered a forum where interests of authors, representatives of platforms, producers and top experts in digital from across the world converged. The Festival demonstrated how fast and strong the development of this segment was.

2026 will be another milestone
This summer, REALIST will be back as the Festival of New Audiovisual Content.

REALIST was the first to put forward the topic of web series in Russia, with micro-dramas being its focus now. Micro-dramas are the genre, which can respond to audience demands thanks to their pace and cheap production: this is how a new consumption pattern emerges, with new viewer experience and new competition of titles.

REALIST 2026 will be the central industry's platform for the exchange of best practices, networking and discussing the most relevant audiovisual content trends.
